Srinagar, Oct 9: The Federation Chamber of industries Kashmir has expressed grief over the demise of prominent Valley entrepreneur and exporter Khwaja Ghulam Rasool Khan who breathed his last on Friday.
Khan was one of the most popular first generation entrepreneurs "who re-destined Kashmir handicrafts industry after 1947 and strived for establishing its base and reputation across the globe," the FCIK in a statement said.
President FCIK Shakeel Qalander termed the deceased as an entrepreneur par excellence who had clear vision on economic and socio-economic issues.
He said the entrepreneurial fraternity would always remember the contribution of Khan sahib towards growth and development of handicraft sector in the valley. "As an able and visionary business leader,   G R Khan has been instrumental in formulation of industrial and export policies in the state after removal of many bottlenecks," he said.
The administrative council and executive council members from across the Valley have also expressed grief on the demise of G.R Khan. The FCIK while praying for eternal peace for the deceased, has conveyed heartfelt condolences to his son   Muzaffar Khan, sons-in-law   Farooq Kathwari and   M. Ibrahim Shahdad, and other family members.  
The Valley's apex business chamber, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also expressed its grief over the demise of Khan.
In a statement here today KCCI president, N A Dar said Khan had done a great service to the handicraft sector in the Valley. He said the business community would always remember the contribution of Khan towards the growth and development of this sector.
