Jammu, Nov 9: At the World Trade Mart, London, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Ragzin Jora held series of meetings with participating stakeholders from India and abroad to popularize 'important leisure and adventure tourism destinations' in J&K.
Jora under the leadership of Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahai and Tourism Ministers of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Orissa held "effective consultation with domestic and foreign tour operators to ensure inflow of tourist traffic of foreign nationals to important tourist destinations of State like Pahalgam, Srinagar, Gulmarg & Jammu where world class Golf Courses have come into existence and can be used by the visiting tourists having aptitude and interest to play golf tournaments."
Besides, white water rafting at these destinations is another attraction for the visiting tourists, he said.
The minister, according to an official statement, highlighted successful conduct of Motor Rally-Himalyan-de-raid, Red Bull in the State.
The Minister said that special packages for foreign tourists who are keen to visit the State were offered which promoted tour operators to avail the facility and assured to send more and more tourists to the State.
Meanwhile, detailed interaction to promote JK Adventure Tourism was held with representatives of Euro Sports, a premier foreign organization popularizing adventure sports all over the world.
Prominent members of Euro Sports with whom interaction was held are Cidalzia Cruz and Maniz. It is hoped that in coming days, inflow of both domestic and foreign tourists interested in leisure tourism, snow skiing, golfing, white water rafting in the State would increase tremendously, Jora added.
