Srinagar, Oct 9: Members of various industrial bodies and tourism organizations have expressed their grief over the gutting of hotel Shahenshah Palace at Boulevard here.
The Chamber of Commerce & Industries-Kashmir (CCIK) in a statement here today said the fire that broke out in the hotel on Oct 6 had caused heavy losses to this prestigious hotel.
The chamber has appealed the government to help rehabilitate the hotel at the earliest.
Members of the J&K Tourism Alliance today said they were extremely depressed with the massive damage to hotel Shahenshah Palace, which gutted in a devastating fire on October 6.
At a meeting with G M Dug in chair, the members expressed their sadness over the incident. "The fire has deprived the travel trade fraternity of an excellent 3 star property," they said.
The members offered their help to restore the property in the shortest period of time. Meanwhile, the members of JKTA from Ladakh, have also expressed grief over the loss of the loss in the fire.
The JKTA has appealed the government to extend its support in making this prestigious property functional within the shortest possible time.
Meanwhile, the members of Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) have expressed their shock at the fire incident that consumed the hotel.
"The devastation of the hotel property is a loss to the whole tourism fraternity of Kashmir, particularly to the tour operators of the state," it said.
"We hope the management of the hotel will make the necessary repairs of the hotel on war footing to restore the hotel to its pristine glory," it said.
