Srinagar, Oct 9: Safeways Hajeej Private Limited has become the first tour and travel company from Srinagar which has acquired a four-star hotel on lease for twenty-five years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a spokesman of the company said.
Giving details he said, "We have got the investors status in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as Safeways Hospitality Pvt Ltd. The company has acquired the 113 room hotel Coral Merjaan, a four star hotel beside the Hilton Towers Makkah. Coral Merjaan will provide extensive accommodation facilities to its Umrah Pilgrims."
He said the acquisition would help the company to bring down the cost of staying for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims from the Valley. "Our pilgrims while in Saudi will feel at home because they would be hosted by their compatriots at our acquired hotel," he said adding that the company had tried its level best to give Kashmiri touch to the hotel.
"We will recruit people from the Valley for serving at the hotel, and locals would be given preferences over professionals from outside India," he said.
"We are the first company from the valley to make such a huge investment in Saudi into acquiring the hotel on lease," he added.
The company has many more plans in the Valley also. "We will be offering Islamic investment opportunities in the Valley soon," he added.
While discussing about the different packages that Hajeej offers to pilgrims, he said, "Sahulat-e-Umrah package is a very attractive package for all those Kashmiri Muslims who can not afford full Umrah expanses in one go. All the services like visa processing, traveling arrangements and accommodation arrangements are made by our company."
He said this package consisted of 14 nights, 15 days. "The price for the package is Rs 51,000. Rs 15,000 is upfront payment and Rs 2250 is the monthly payment for 16 months only.
