Srinagar: A seminar on credit flow to REGP was held at a three-day national convention organized by ministry of SSI, ARI and KVIC in New Delhi. The seminar discussed REGP-issues and constraints, discussion on credit flow to tiny sector, KVIB in a statement said here.
The national awards for excellence in khadi and village industries 2005, first national awards to banks-2005-06 for excellence in SSI and tiny sector lending and first national award for research and development efforts to small scale entrepreneurs were conferred by Pranab Mukerjee, minister for defence and Mahavir Parsad, union minister for small industries.
Hamid Shah, an artisan of Khayam road here was the only awardee from J&K state. He was given the national award for excellence in Khadi. Secretary KVIB R C Sharma and the secretary of the institution Mr Qureshi were present in the award function.
For excellence in SSI and tiny sector lending the award has been instituted for banks from this year with a view to encourage banks to enhance credit flow to the small and tiny sector.
