Jammu, Nov 9: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday said his government would take every measure to provide strong edifice to State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) to flourish and become an economically viable unit.
 "We are working to revive SRTC  on strong footing and help it to expand its field of operation to become an economically sound and professionally prosperous public undertaking," he said and asked the functionaries of the corporation to compliment the governmental efforts in this direction by putting in honest, dedicated and professional service.
 Addressing a function organized by the SRTC Union Omar said government would take further measures to expand orbit of operation of the Corporation in the State besides adding a new fleet of modern buses to the existed one already provided to run the Corporation on profit and make good of the losses incurred by it in the past due to various reasons.
 The Corporation was recently provided with a fleet of over 160 new and modern buses while as 100 more such buses are in pipeline. The step was taken to help the Corporation to enhance its operational capacity and try to come out of the red.
