Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-Kashmir today launched a 3-day skill development training programme at Shalimar campus here.
The programme being conducted in collaboration with Extension Education Institute, Nilokheri, Harayana, is aimed to upgrade the skill sets of extension functionaries of line departments, subject matter specialists of KVKs and university scientists.
Prof Afifa S Kamili, Director Extension, SKUAST-K inaugurated the program today.
In her inaugural address she emphasized on the importance of knowledge dissemination among the stakeholders.
While maintaining that little research results were reaching the end-users, Kamili reiterated the need to build human resource with adequate skill so as to ensure proper utilization of available resources to speed up technology transfer, production, productivity, and income per unit area.
Scientists of the directorate of Extension, Nilokheri, Prof Naseeb Singh and Dr Satiyakam Malik from Extension Education Institute, Haryana conducted several training sessions during the workshop.
The resource persons were highly impressed by the enthusiasm of the participants and lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Extension Education for conducting the training programme, a statement here said.
