Union Minister of State in PMO, DrJitendra Singh today said that 21st century will be led by "Startup" leaders and tomorrow's India will be entrepreneur's India.
He was addressing a daylong conference on "Startup India" held as immediate follow-up to the announcement of "Startup India Standup India" plan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jan 16. The conference was organized by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India.
Dr Singh said, "This is certainly the best times happening for India because on the one hand, we have a Prime Minister who is always open to new initiatives and out -of – box positive experimentation while on the other hand, India is on the verge of becoming a world power on the basis of its youth strength who comprise over 65 per cent of country's population and are the real torch bearers of 'Startup India' mission."
Dr Singh hailed the provisions of Startup India particularly the provision of exit period of three months during which a youngster will have the opportunity to decide whether to go ahead or to switch over to some other alternative option without much liability. "This will not only increase the risk – taking capacity of the "startup" youngster, but will also give him the confidence to persist with his initiatives without giving up," he said.
Assocham president SujitKanoria, its past president and MP Raj Kumar Dhoot, its secretary general, D.S. Rawat, PuneetDalmiya of Dalmiya Bharat Limited and Daniel Carmen, the Ambassador of Israel also spoke on the occasion.
