Kashmir Economic Alliance today expressed serious concern over the 'unnecessary' delay in the formation of the government in the state saying that the political uncertainty was hitting the economic interests of the state. "There is uncertainty over the government formation. Having no government at place means people have no one to take care of their grievances and their needs," KEA chairman ShowkatChowdhary said.
KEA, an amalgam of the Valley's many business organizations, said the PDP is accountable to the people and it should make public its plans for the formation of the government. "There is uncertainty among the masses. Nobody knows what the PDP is intending to do. The party owes answer to public," he said.
The KEA chairman urged the PDP to form coalition with other parties "if the BJP is not willing to fulfil the promises." The KEA Chairman said there are many works pending which can be done only when there is government at the place. "It is the responsibility of the PDP to form government and secure maximum relief and rehabilitation from the central government for the people of Kashmir," he said.
KEA said tourism is providing livelihood to lakhs of the people in Kashmir and it needs to be promoted vigorously.
