Kashmir Fort Festival was today held at Hari Parbhat here today. Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi attended the Festival at historic Hari Parbat fort in Old City.
The Minister who also visited Botanical Garden, said that Heritage Tourism has great scope in Jammu and Kashmir. "This Hari Parbhat is a symbol of unity, brotherhood and harmony, where a temple, mosque and Gurdawara co-exist," the Minister said.
"The government will soon formulate a Cultural Policy which will be introduced in schools and colleges for making our future generations aware of the state's cultural treasure", Sethi said. Secretary Tourism, Farooq Shah, on the occasion stated that Heritage Tourism has the potential of providing employment opportunities to the youth of old city.
He also informed the Minister about the scope of Pilgrim and Adventure Tourism in the state. The Festival was also attended by Director Floriculture, tourists and locals.
