A daylong awareness programme on high "density plantation in apple" was today held at SKUAST K.
The program organized by Directorate of Extension, SKUAST, was aimed to disseminate information among the farmers.
More than 500 progressive farmers from across the Kashmir valley, officers of Horticulture department, scientists of KVKs and subject matter experts participated.
VC SKUAST-K Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, through a power point presentation highlighted various aspects and constraints of high density varieties.
He emphasized the importance of high density plantation for increasing productivity from 10-100 t/ha by which farmers can harvest the better economic returns.
Former Director Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture Prof. Abdul Ahad Sofi gave the awareness about the need of high density plantation.
