Members of J&K Self Reliant Central Level Co-operative Association, Srinagar (JKSRCLCOA) on Saturday met Agriculture minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjoora to discuss issues related to supply and distribution of fertilizers during current Rabi season.
A statement said under the Chairman of the Association Syed Muhammad Yousuf, the deputation met the minister and thanked him for "timely arrangement and record movement of fertilizers to Kashmir during the current Rabi season despite difficulties".
"The association apprised the Minister that 95000 meteric tonne of fertilizer has reached Valley which is with the Cooperatives and its retailers and sale centers and the application is yet to be commenced due to prevailing weather conditions," the statement by JKSRCLCOA said. According to the statement, the association endorsed and appreciated the role of fertilizer supplying companies in supplying and distribution of fertilizers in "prevailing difficult conditions".
The association requested the minister that notional rail head at Srinagar was a great milestone of the present government.
"It needs support to concertize this decision which has far reaching consequences in the economic development of the state," the statement said. The statement said the association informed the minister about "misinformation campaign being led by vested interests in the trade by resorting to false propaganda against the notional rake point."
