J&K Government has appointed Peer GhulamNabi as a consultant for revival of skill development in the State.
Peer, according to a government order, has been engaged as consultant for J&K Skill Mission by the Technical Education Department on one-year term to revive skill development and entrepreneurship projects in the state. A fellow of International Poverty Reduction Centre, Peer who is the founding director of an independent research and policy centre "Centre for Research and Development Policy –CRDP" has got masters degree in Public Policy and PhD in International Development Studies. He has been hosting lecture series "KehwaTalk" since December 2014.
Peer's engagement as consultant has came two years after government constituted Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission. However, the mission has remained dysfunctional due to lack of funds and human resource.
Peer, as per the order, would conduct surveys and carry out skill gap analysis for providing direction towards job creation in the state.
