A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Officers' Association (JKBOA), Kashmir called on Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti here today.
According to a statement of JKBOA, the delegation apprised the CM about various challenges faced by the J&K Bank like demonetization, special restructuring package for J&K borrowers, digitization process etc. during last one year besides the achievements made by the bank under the leadership of chairman & CEO Parvez Ahmad to consolidate and rebuild the balance sheet of the bank.
The delegation also extended its gratitude to CM for supporting the bank from time to time, the latest being the capital infusion to strengthen the capital base of the bank.
"The delegation discussed various issues and measures required to be initiated by the government to support the flagship institution of the state and expressed its hope that the present government will always extend support and supplement its efforts to overcome the challenges faced by the bank," the statement reads.
The CM, according the statement, assured the delegation of every possible support to safe guard the interests of the institution. The issues discussed in the meeting mainly comprised of strengthening the fundamentals of the bank, capital adequacy and other key ratios, restructured assets, exposure to sensitive sectors and the role of J&K Bank as banker to the government.
