Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and former minister Naeem Akhtar has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Kashmir's noted houseboat owner Mohammad AzimTuman of Mascot Group.

According to a statement, Akhtar, in a condolence message, hailed the services rendered by Tuman for the revival of Kashmir's tourism during the tumultuous times and said that he was known for his fair and honest practices in the sector all across.

"He remained at the forefront, striving to take Kashmir's tourism to new heights and worked tirelessly all his life for this purpose," said Akhtar.  "The role he played during the 90s was instrumental for the revival of the tourism sector in the state and under his leadership, the houseboat community too witnessed major growth and upliftment."
