Handicrafts Department's Quality Control Division has conducted surprise inspection of several handicrafts outlets at Dalgate-Boulevard and LalChowk areas.
According to an official spokesperson, the inspection wasconducted by the enforcement wing of Quality Control Division of the departmentunder the supervision of Deputy Director Handicrafts (Quality Control).
During the inspection, the handicrafts dealers, who arecarrying out their business without valid registration, were advised toregister their shops immediately with the Directorate of Handicrafts.
The dealers were also asked to desist from selling fake machinemade items in the name of Kashmir Art, and also advised to affix tags depictingprice, make and other specifications on the goods displayed for sale and alsoissue cash memos to the customers.
The dealers were asked to adhere to the rules of Tourist TradeAct 1978(82) in letter and spirit.
