Admissions for 2nd batch of Naropa Fellowship open

With the intention to continue fostering entrepreneurial skills in youth from the Himalayan belt, Naropa Fellowship programme has announced admission for its second batch.

The first cohort of 52 fellows are all set to graduate onAugust 25 and the admissions for the second batch have already commenced. 

   

Naropa Fellowship is a one-year, fully residential,post-graduate, academic programme focused on creating and nurturing agents ofchange who will work towards building a sustainable socio-economic environmentin Ladakh and the greater Himalayas, a statement said. It seeks to fosterentrepreneurship, retain local talent while preserving the cultural heritage ofthe region. The fellowship is designed to address the rising challenges ofunemployment, lack of training and professional skills, and gradual culturalerosion in Ladakhi and the Himalayan societies. The Naropa campus is located atHemis village in Leh.

 The curriculum of theFellowship includes entrepreneurship, society and culture, communication skillsand personal development tied up with a live project which aims to engage thefellows in working on sustainable solutions for the local community in Ladakhand surrounding regions. The Fellows are supported by world-class faculty whichincludes industry experts, academicians and practitioners who guide andinstruct the fellows in their entrepreneurial ventures.

The fellowship is currently inviting applications fromgraduate students for the second batch beginning September 2019.  The Naropa Fellowship is offering fullyfunded scholarship worth Rs 1.2 lakh to the students. Students can apply for theNaropa Fellowship 2019 through the website (http://naropafellowship.org/) andthe last date of the submission of the application is August 7.
