Anganwari Workers Thursday staged a protest here against the government demanding release of their pending salaries.
The protesters under the banner All Jammu and Kashmir Aganwari Workers Association (AJKAWA) assembled at Press Enclave here and raised pro-justice and anti-government slogans. "We are without salary for past six months. We are unable to feed our family and are facing immense hardships," they said.
The workers appealed the government to release their salaries before Eid.
Meanwhile, the members Health and Family Welfare Association and Health and Family Welfare Association (HFWA) also held a protest here demanding release of withheld wages.
"It is shame for the government that we have to take to streets to demand release of their earned wages," they said.
