A delegation of Adventure Tour Operates Association of Kashmir (ATOAK) Monday held a meeting with director tourism Nisar Ahmed Wani and discussed promotion of adventure events across the state.
A number of officials of the tourism department including Joint Director Tourism, CEO’s of Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam development authorities, deputy directors tourism recreation, publicity & enforcement, assistant director Tourism Gulmarg and Pahalgam, incharge Sonmarg, officer in charge recreation wing, besides president, general secretary and treasurer of ATOAK were present in the meeting.
President ATOAK Rauf Tramboo said discussed different issues related to development of adventure tourism in the valley.
According to a ATOAK statement, director and other officers assured their full cooperation to adventure tour operators in regulating and operating various adventure tourism products at different tourism resorts in the valley. Operations of rafting, paragliding and winter sports were discussed at length.
General secretary of ATOAK Mohammad Yusuf informed that sub-committees waere also constituted to frame the rules and regulations for operating different technical activities. While discussing exploration of new destinations for adventure, the director assured that meaningful adventure activities will be introduced at Dudhpathri, Sonmarg & Gurez, and the CEOs of concerned development authorities also ensured of their full cooperation to ATOAK.
