Expressing serious concern over the losses caused to fruit growers in Kashmir, the Congress party today asked the government to "help transportation of the fruit from the Valley to outside markets."
The party spokesperson said the absence of the adequate transport facility and exorbitant freight being charged, have put the growers to huge loss.
Alleging that Private Transport Owners are charging exorbitantly for ferrying fruit outside, PCC spokesperson blamed the government for not being serious about the losses cased to fruit industry.
He said government should see that growers do not suffer losses anymore and ensure adequate transportation for fruit.
The spokesman also expressed concern over the non-availability of essential goods in Dachan, Paader, Marwah and other far off areas in districts Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and elsewhere in the State.
