Enrol left out farmers in PM KISAN: Advisor Skandan to DCs

Advisor to Governor, K Skandan on Wednesday reviewed the progress on the implementation of PM KISAN Scheme in the state in a meeting with the deputy commissioners through video conferencing.

Theadvisor asked for display of lists of beneficiaries at the Panchayat level toensure the enrolment of leftover eligible farmers. He further asked for givingwide publicity to designated toll free number operated at district level tolisten to the grievances of farmers and redressal of the same in a time boundmanner.

   

K Skandan directed theconcerned deputy commissioners to ensure rectification of data rejected on PMKISAN portal in the next 2 to 3 days and re-upload the same so that benefits tothe farmers are transferred at an earliest. He also asked them to check thereasons for the rejection of the documents of the farmers so that therectification can be made easier.

Meanwhile the advisor hasstressed on the need for developing common facility centers (CFC) with smalland modular cold storage system to enable farmers to preserve their produce forlonger period.

Advisor, according to anofficial spokesperson, was chairing a review meeting of the Jammu and KashmirAgro Industries Development Corporation (JKAIDC) here on Wednesday. He askedthe corporation to focus on post harvest techniques like sorting and packagingof agri products.

The meeting was informedthat the corporation is planning to set up 1000 MTs capacity cold storage ineach district of the state involving a cost of Rs 5 crore.
