Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs today directed all the enrolled notaries who have not submitted their annual return pertaining to the year 2020.
As per the circular: “All the enrolled notaries who have not submitted their annual return pertaining to the year 2020, to submit the same to the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs within 15 days in Form – XIV as prescribed in Rule-14 of the Notaries Rule, 1956 from the date of publication this circular.”
The notaries have been warned of action under rules if they fail to submit the annual return. The circular says that most of the notaries have not submitted their annual return for the year, 2020. “As per the rule (14) of the Notaries Rules, 1956 every notary, shall in the first week of January every year, submit to the appropriate Government an annual return form-XIV of the notarial acts done by him during the preceding year,” as per the circular.
