President, Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Rakesh Gupta today raised several business-related issues with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Gupta thanked the government for "announcing GST amnesty, terming it a great step towards ending unnecessary harassment of honest business people," a chamber handout said.
The chamber presented a memorandum to the chief minister raising several business-related issues.
Gupta informed the CM that "the demand for amnesty to the transporters on Passenger Tax is still pending." He urged the CM that "directions may be given to Finance Ministry to issue necessary SROs for amnesty on Passenger Tax."
"It is known to one and all that the transport sector that includes Taxis, Buses, Trucks, etc., has been hit badly by the unrest in the Valley for last many months. It is our earnest request to your goodself to compensate the Transport Sector through whatever provisions the government deems fit."
The chamber also sought necessary amendments in the Disability Act of the State to bring it at par with the Disability Act of Government of India.
