The Kashmir Artisans' Rehabilitation Forum (JKARF) has demanded that the new industry policy to be announced by the government should address the concerns of the artisans in Kashmir.

A delegation of the forum called on Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga and urged him that the new industrial policy should give due consideration to the concerns of the artisans. The minister "promised the delegation that he will ensure that all concerns of the artisans are addressed in due course," the forum in a statement said.

The minister said the artisans in Jammu and Kashmir "will have a sense of security in regard to their livelihood as government will take all necessary steps vis-à-vis industrial policy and beyond to secure the interests of the artisan."

The delegation comprised Shiekh Ashiq, JKARF patron, Altaf Kazime president, Parvaiz Naqqash Vice-President, Parvez Bhat Secretary General and Rizwan Khurshid Publicity Secretary, besides district representatives from Budgam and Baramulla.
