The ongoing unrest in Kashmir valley has adversely affected the Project Beacon of Border Road Organization (BRO).
Raised in 1965, Project Beacon has been solely responsible for providing connectivity in Kashmir Valley by developing roads.
"Loss of more than two months of working season during summers is a serious issue considering that the work output is as such less during winters," a BRO handout here today said.
"While endeavours were made to execute work where and whenever possible but owing to restrictions on move of vehicles and persons, desired progress could not be made and as a result many appreciated targets perforce will have to be revised," it said.
"Work on four laning of Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri scheduled for completion by July 2016 has been delayed. Handing over of Road Sinathan Pass- Anantnag to NHAI will be postponed as the pending work on this road will now go beyond the planned PDC of Sep 2016," it said.
The most affected locations where delay/loss of work has been seen are Tangdhar, Anantnag, Kupwara and Bandipur sectors, it said.
