KCCI flays eviction notice to local shopkeepers at Srinagar Airport

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry has taken a serious note of the “eviction notices” served to the shopkeepers at the Srinagar International Airport by the Airport Authority of India.

A statement issued by KCCI said it has taken up the issue formally with the Minister of Civil Aviation through a written communication and sought intervention by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in the mater so that interests of the local entrepreneurs are safeguarded.

“The KCCI has made it clear that the KCCI will oppose any such move tooth and nail which is against the interest of the local entrepreneurs,” said the statement. Meanwhile, a delegation of the KCCI called on Tourism Minister Tasaduq Mufti on Thursday and presented a memorandum to him. Mufti was requested to take up the issue with the Airport Authority of India at his earliest.
