Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Wednesday held a interaction with Joint Commissioner of Income Tax Department Rajesh Kumar Madan Lal, and Assistant Commissioner Shabir Ahmad Handoo at chamber office here.
President KCCI Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad gave an overview of the state of the economyand various issues concerning the Income Tax Department. He stated that theKCCI would be acting as a bridge between the department and the tax payers toassist in settlement of pending issues, according the KCCI statement.
Rajesh Kumar Madan Lal, according the KCCI statement, saidthat the department would be working closely with the KCCI to make the businesscommunity aware about the working of Income Tax Department and assured that allgenuine assesses of the IT Department would be welcome to discuss their caseswith the officers of the department. He said that timely filling of returns andregular interaction with the department would help in allaying apprehensionsconsumers may have about the department.
According the statement, it was decided in the meeting thatthe KCCI would be holding regular sector wise interactions with the ITDepartment so that sector specific discussions take place and issues areaddressed.
