The employees of planning development and monitoring department have decided to extend their pen-down strike till October 1, in protest against government’s recent decision to transfer key functions of their department to the finance department.

The employees of planning development and monitoring department have decided to extend their pen-down strike till October 1, in protest against government's recent decision to transfer key functions of their department to the finance department.

In a statement issued here, the employees said they will decide future of action after analysing the report of a committee constituted by government to finalise deployment of personnel of the J&K Accounts Service and J&K Economic & Statistics Service on a rational basis across in the two departments.

They also said that government order number 47-FD of 2018 was issued by the finance department has been issued without waiting for constitution of a committee for working out modalities.

"The ambiguity in the order has paralyzed the functioning of the department," they said, demanding that it should be put in abeyance.
