The BSNL subscribers here today against the "bad" telecom and cellular services by state-owned company.
The subscribers particularly the students said: "BSNL mobile telephony and landlines are totally non-functional here and in some areas of Hajin."
The aggrieved said that since the unrest started in Kashmir, the BNSL services "have gone from bad to worse."
"We are left high and dry by the blocking of the mobile and broadband services in these days by the company," Ishfaq Hussain, a local said.
The locals said they have many times approached the officials at the BSNL exchange here with their grievances "but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears."
Many locals complained that they are not denied fresh connections. "When we approach the exchange here for new SIM cards or new broadband connection we are being told to get them either from Baramulla or from Srinagar, when they are easily available at respective exchange offices in other districts," the residents said.
Despite repeated attempts, no BSNL official was available for the comment.
When contacted Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Khan assured that the services would be restored by tomorrow.
