Hailstorm and rains have damaged standing crops and fruits of farmers and orchardists living in various villages of Gandhri block of Ramban district.
According to the farmers, rains and hail that lashed in thearea have also caused extensive damages and losses to the Rabi maize crop andfruits of these villages in Gandhari and Dhramkund area. The farmers andorchardists have appealed Deputy Commissioner for deputing expert teams ofagriculture and horticulture departments for assessing the damages caused dueto hailstorm.
Affected farmers have requested the authorities to sendexpert teams for assessing the losses and have also demanded the compensationfor the losses.
