SKUAST-K holds seminar on ‘Hill agriculture Policy’

SKUAST-K in collaboration with ICAR-National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research, New-Delhi organised national seminar on ‘Development of Hill Agriculture Policy and Institutional Imperative’ on Monday at Shalimar Campus, Srinagar. 

Abhijit Sen, Distinguished Professor, JNU & Former Member Planning Commission was the chief guest, according to a SKUAST-K statement.

   

Abhijit Sen while speaking on the occasion emphasized for having a separate policy for North West Himalayan hill states of India. He also advised on capitalizing the comparative advantage of temperate crops along with zonalization within the hill states for site specific niche crops.

 Prof Nazeer Ahmed, VC SKUAST-K gave insight of development of hill agriculture in the State.
