Srinagar: Tariq Rashid Ghani was elected as the president of the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) during the 14th Annual General Meeting held here.
Ghani, who comes with vast experience in the industrial sector, has pledged to promote Kashmir’s economic sectors and work for the revival of business during his term as a president.
Bashir A. Beigh was elected as Sr. Vice President, Gh. Mohi-ud-din Khan as Jr. Vice President, Haseeb Renzu as Secretary-General, Qaiser Mir as Joint Secretary-General, Showkat Hussain as Treasurer and Naseer A. Khan as Chief Coordinator.
Newly elected, President Ghani said Kashmir’s economy is facing a tough time and it is high time that the efforts are being put in place to revive it to its past glory.
“I will try my best to take the issues of our members in particular and that of general trade in general with the higher authorities so that all economic sectors receive a huge boost,” he said.
He said Kashmiri businessmen have been at the receiving end due to various issues and they need immediate revival plans.
