Traders Federation Sopore discusses business issues with authorities

Sopore, May 5: The Traders Federation of Sopore held an important meeting with the administration on Saturday to discuss various issues faced by traders and other citizens in the town, particularly regarding the road divider at a crucial location.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner S.A. Raina, Chief Tehsildar Sopore Sheikh Tariq, a delegation from the Traders Federation headed by President Muhammad Ashraf Ganai, and representatives from all markets in the town. Several shopkeepers expressed concerns that the establishment of a road divider at a particular spot has severely impacted their businesses. “We are facing difficulties, as a result of which business activities in both the main markets have been practically paralyzed,” they stated.

Furthermore, stakeholders highlighted other pressing issues, including water scarcity, power outages, and dilapidated roads within the town. Meanwhile, other residents reported that due to the road divider, passengers and private vehicles are forced to pass through narrow residential areas, increasing the risk of accidents.

After listening to the grievances, ADC Sopore and the Tehsildar assured the traders that the administration is focused on providing relief to common citizens, including traders.
