Waterlogged road at Lassipora IE irk industrialists

The roads leading to Kashmir’s largest industrial estate SIDCO Lassipora in Pulwama district are in dilapidated condition causing immense problems to the unit holders and transporters.

“A stream gets blocked under the road and the water then flows over it.  Besides, all the rain or snow water gets accumulated on the said road due to unavailability of proper drainage and culvert. The water flows over the main road blocking the road.  The unit holders, laborers and especially the loaded trucks are unable to enter into the estate,” many unit holders said.

“Roads remain inundated due to absence of drainage and it seems that the authorities are not serious towards this,” Aijaz Ahmad Malik, a worker, working in a factory said.” We pay for everything here and it is the duty of authorities to provide us all basic facilities.”

When contacted, General Manager SIDCO,  Kashmir, Aijaz Ahmad said “Actually the water of a stream flows over it which creates problems.  But I assure you that the work on a culvert will be started tomorrow.  Allotment has been done and the culvert will be constructed at a cost of 40 lakh.
