With Rs 163 cr collection in Q4, Jio leads in J&K’s telecom sector revenue share

With the business of Rs 163 crore from Jammu and Kashmir for the quarter ending March 31, 2019, Reliance Jio has become the telecom market leader in terms of revenue generation in the state leaving behind its closest competitor Airtel for the first time. 

By capturing 43.5 percent revenue market share in J&Kwith the less than three years of its commercial launch, Jio has attained thenumber one position in telecom sector revenue generation in the state.

   

As per the recently published financial report for the sectorreleased by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for quarter endingMarch 31, Jio achieved gross revenue of Rs 163 crore and revenue market shareof 43.5 percent. Airtel stood at Rs 152 crore with market share of 40.6 percentwhile that of Voda-Idea stood at Rs 30 crore with share of 7.9 percent. BSNLstands at Rs 30 crore with market share of 8 percent during the same period.

Revenue market share of a telecom service provider is thepercentage of total industry revenue contributed by that operator.

“A key factor contributing to Jio’s rapid growth in J&Kis its robust and largest true 4G network, making Jio the most preferred 4Goperator for all new smartphone buyers,” a Jio official said. “JioPhone hascontributed immensely to the growth of Jio in rural J&K, who aspire to useJio’s 4G services but can’t afford expensive smartphones.”
