120 bags of govt cement seized: Police

Police today seized 120 bags of government cement bags from Chanderkote, Ramban, which were being carried in a Tipper for selling in the market, police said. 

The spokesman said that cement bags belonged to Rural Development Department (RDD) and were supposed to utilized in development works. 

   

The Tipper and 120 cement bags have been seized. 

The spokesman said that on the basis of specific information, a police party, led by SHO, Police Station, Chanderkote, laid a special naka and intercepted a Tipper. 

During search, 120 bags of government cement were found to be carried in the vehicle illegally.   

 A case FIR number 63 of 2018 under section 420/109 RPC has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote, he said. 

The occupants in the Tipper could not produce any document like indent gate pass etc to concerned SHO. 

The employees, howoever, managed to escape. 

SHO, Police Station Chanderkote, Abid Shah Bhkhari said, “Yes, police have seized one tipper loaded with 120 bags of cement from Chanderkote  which was being illegally transported for selling in open market”. 

H e said, “We have registered FIR number 63 of 2018 under section 420/109 RPC for further investigations in this regard”. 

Block Development Officer (BDO), Ramban, could not be contacted for his comments despite repeated attempts on phone.
