A JCB operator and a supervisor of the public works department sustained injuries after the JCB slipped into gorge on Chambalwass-Neel road at Lavra Thursday afternoon.
A police officer said, “A JCB machine, engaged by public works department for clearing snow from Chambalwass-Neel link road, slipped into gorge while they were returning after clearing snow from the road at Lavra. As a result, two men onboard the JCB sustained grievous injuries.”
The injured have been identified as Parveen Kumar, JCB operator, and Bilal Ahmed, supervisor of public works department. “They were shifted to sub-district hospital, Banihal, where they were undergoing treatment,” the officer said.
