In view of celebrations of the International Women's Day, the Jammu & Kashmir Women's Welfare Society (JKWWS) today felicitated social workers for their outstanding work in the field of women empowerment.
As per a statement the society in collaboration with Rana Mahila Vikas Mandal organised the felicitation function at Bhalla here. "In this function social workers were felicitated for their contribution to the society to strengthen the brotherhood, amity and peace", the statement said.
"Prominent social workers including K K Pandita (retd TSO), Shazia Tabassum and Mazdeen Begam were felicitated in the presence of a huge audience. Nazir Ahmed Hafuz Bhat SHO, Bhalla was the chief Guest while Sarpanch, Abdul Hafiz Bhatt (Bhalla) was the guest of honour", the statement added.
Speaking on the occasion, the SHO said that the social and mental status of any society can only be measured through the space and rights provided to women by the particular society.
"All the transformations in respect of morals, culture and education are only possible through women", he said and congratulated the organisers of the function.
The function was attended by prominent persons of the area including social activities, educationist and civil society members.
