Department of Youth Services organized a symposium on "Moral Education and Sports" in Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GHSSB) here today.
The event was supervised by District Youth Services and Sports officer Kishtwar, D C Thakur.
Students from various educational institutions participated in the symposium and deliberated over the topic and stressed for inclusion of moral education in the curricular activities in the schools so that a sense of responsibility is inculcated among the student community in the region that will help in the development of depleting values in society.
Arvind Kumar of class 12th of GHSSB bagged first position while as Maydha Muqadas of class 10th in Furqan Academy Kishtwar and Junaid Wani of Islamia Faridiya Higher Secondary School Kishtwar got second and third positions respectively.
Chief Education Officer Kishtwar, Vinod Saini inaugurated the symposium. He stressed on the importance of moral education in schools and enjoined upon the teaching community to make personal and focused efforts to develop moral values among the students at large.
Principal DIET Kishtwar, Principal Government Higher Secondary School (Girls) Kishtwar and Principal GHSSB Kishtwar and other senior functionaries of Education department and Youth Services and Sports department also spoke on the occasion.
