Minister of State for Public works Department and Revenue, Sunil Kumar Sharma today said that the roads of Kishtwar town and its periphery will be blacktopped in one go in the coming days.
Launching macadamization work of the Bus Stand to Shalimar stretch of the National highway in Kishtwar, the Minister said asked the R&B Department to maintain the best standards of work. He said he will personally monitor the black-topping work during his surprise visits at the sites.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, SSP Kishtwar, Sandeep Wazir, Xen PMGSY and other district officers.
The Minister also laid foundation of 14 km long Kandani-Ohli link road part first on the revised alignment to be constructed by PMGSY.
Calling roads the life line of the economy, he said that a network of quality roads will be established across the Kishtwar district as many more road projects are in the offing.
He said it the need of the hour to go-past the dubious distinction of the district known for poor connectivity. He said the zeal with which present dispensation is working in the direction of strengthening road infrastructure the day is not far away when Kishtwar will be known for quality road connectivity across the state.
