He was travelling with his wife Anita Devi, aunt Uma Devi and brother-in-law Vinkal Kumar when the tragedy struck. His wife and aunt also died in the accident whereas his brother-in-law received grave injuries and was airlifted to GMC Jammu.
He was travelling to his native village Jodhpur Ghat Doda from Jammu to attend the funeral of his father who died last night. The passers-by immediately rushed the occupants of the car to District Hospital Doda where except Vinkal Kumar all were declared brought dead.

The participants observed two minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls.

Kalyan Singh Parihar was travelling in a car along with his family to his native village Jodhpur Ghat Doda from Jammu.
Kalyan Singh Parihar had also served as BDO Ramsu, SDM Bhaderwah, CEO Bhaderwah Development Authority and Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha & former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir GN Azad has expressed deep shock and grief on the sudden demise of the officer.
"I share the grief and pain of the family and stand in solidarity with them in this critical hour."
He further said that such painful accidents serve as a reminder to take immediate steps to prevent and contain occurrence of road accidents.
Considering the views and seriousness shown by Governor J&K on the issue of loss of lives in road accidents in J&K, Azad urged him to activate and strengthen the Road Safety Council that has come into being on the initiative and instance of Governor J&K.
Azad also drew attention of Governor J&K to his earlier communications expressing concern on the increased occurrence of road accidents and sought his immediate intervention to prevent further loss of life.
The Advisors to the Governor, Parvez Dewan and Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, have condoled the deaths.
