As many as 76 senior and grassroot level BJP workers who were working for the party for last two years in Kishtwar constituency tendered their resignation today from their party primary membership.
Citing civilian killings in Kashmir as the reason for their resignation, a statement issued by senior BJP leader and active member of Muslim morcha, Nishat Hussain Butt of Sanghrambhata said, "we had joined BJP on developmental plank particularly in Kishtwar and the state in general but the civilian killings in Kashmir have shaken us as BJP leadership has expressed no remorse over the deaths."
He also blamed Mehbooba Mufti for civilian killings in Kashmir. He said he along with his seventy five party workers resigned from BJP.
He along with other workers apologised for joining the party.
