Highway widening: Minister seizes 12 JCBs, 6 tippers of construction company

Acting tough against indiscriminate dumping of muck by highway construction companies, Minister for Forests and Environment, Lal Singh today seized 12 JCBs and 6 tippers here along the Jammu Srinagar highway.

Acting tough against indiscriminate dumping of muck by highway construction companies, Minister for Forests and Environment, Lal Singh today seized 12 JCBs and 6 tippers here  along the Jammu Srinagar highway. 

As per officials, the action was taken by the forest Minister during the inspection of construction sites, forest compartments and other works along Batote to Banihal stretch of highway. 

The Minister visited various construction sites of along the highway and on the spot ordered   forest authorities  to seize   6 tipper and 12 JCBs for violation of standing regulations.

He also ordered to cancel the permission of hot mixing plant of HCC at Sherbibi. 

He also stopped the work at some locations where he found violation of   terms and condition as mentioned in contract agreement made by the construction companies with government.

The Minister was accompanied by Principal Chief Conservator Forest J&K, A K Singh, Chief Conservator Forest Jammu, Roshan Jaggi, Conservator Forest Kashmir, Nisar Darvai, SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar and other senior functionaries.
