The fire victims of Batyas and Malikpora villages of sub division Gundouh are spending their days and nights in makeshift sheds due to failure of the government to take steps for their permanent rehabilitation.
Aghast over false assurances of the government, the victims said they have lost hope of any help as they haven't seen any official from administration since the incidents happened.
"Even after two weeks of fire incident, District administration Doda have failed to disburse Red Cross relief which is an administrative failure ", a victim told to Greater Kashmir.
They said that affected families have no food and water to feed their children and spending days and nights in the open. "The relief operation team is not taking our miseries seriously. We even don't have milk for our children" said the members of affected families.
Despite tall claims of the government and district administration, the victims have not been provided ration, tents, drinking water, medicines and other essentials.
Pertinently 40 houses including shops were reduced to ashes at village Batyas two weeks back, while a few weeks earlier equal number of shops and a residential house were gutted in Malikpura locality of the Gandoh sub-division .
"We have lost everything to the devastating fire incidents, traders lost merchandise worth crores, families are left without a roof over their head, children lost school books, uniforms ", lamented the victims.
Source said that while administration failed on ground, victims are collecting relief from people.
The people from adjoining villages have managed quilts and blankets at their own and provided to the victims who are living in makeshift shelters.
