District Hospital Ramban is again in news for a bad reason. This time all records of irresponsibility have been broken by not providing ambulance to a accident victim reportedly wreathing in pain for more than two hours in the corridor of District Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim, reports said, cried for at least two hours before an ambulance which was short of fuel was arranged.
Source said a load carrier driver Arun Kumar resident of Moga Punjab got seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle skidded from the road near Digdool. The injured was shifted to District Hospital by the volunteers of Red Cross, police.
After providing medical aid he was referred to Government Medical Collage and Hospital Jammu for specialized treatment by the doctors. However, for want of fuel all the ambulances of the hospital were defunct.
The injured, reports said, remain confined to the stretcher for two hours till the ambulance was finally provided.
The locals have taken strong note of the development and sought up gradation of the hospital in terms of manpower and infrastructure.
The hospital administration, however, blamed he authorities for not releasing money for the fuel.
