Crackdown on use of plastic bags, other market offenders held in Bhaderwah

Continuing their efforts to ensure that consumers get essential commodities as per rate list and in hygienic conditions during the holy month of Ramadhan and to implement the ban on plastic bags, Tehsildar Bhaderwah Masood Ahmed along with Municipal inspectors, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) officers and police launched a crackdown in the Bhaderwah market on chicken shops, butcheries, vegetables shops, grocery dealers and sweet shops on Friday.

Continuing their efforts to ensure that consumers get essential commodities as per rate list and in hygienic conditions during the holy month of Ramadhan and to implement the ban on plastic bags, Tehsildar Bhaderwah Masood Ahmed along with Municipal inspectors, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) officers and police launched a crackdown in the Bhaderwah market on chicken shops, butcheries, vegetables shops, grocery dealers and sweet shops on Friday.

The team checked the rate list of chicken, fruits and sugar in the market and also ensured that the eatables are sold in hygienic conditions. 

A team of half a dozen officers from different departments along with police carried out market checking at Pasri Bus Stand, Jamia Masjid, Saddar Bazaar, Vegetable Market, Seri Bazaar and fined several offenders, besides destroying rotten vegetables, fruits and unhygienic food items. They also seized a huge quantity of polythene bags from the shopkeepers and warned them to avoid use of polythene bags.

The Tehsildar was accompanied by TSO Bhaderwah Farooq Ahmed, SHO Munir Khan and other officers from allied departments. They also sought cooperation from the public to make Bhaderwah polythene free.
