4 drug peddlers arrested: Police

Ramban, Nov 19: Two drug peddlers were arrested during checking on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Chanderkote and Ramban on Friday while two more drug peddlers were arrested in Ramban on Thursday, Police said.

Police said during a routine checking in the jurisdiction of Police Station Chanderkote, a youth was arrested after 293 gm charas was recovered from his possession during frisking.

Police identified the drug peddler as Anil Bakshi of Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari Colony, Jammu.

At Shan Place Naka on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Ramban, a truck (JK12A 1217) was intercepted for checking, and during a search, a drug peddler was arrested along with 5 kg poppy straw.

Police identified the drug peddler as Mehfoz Khan of Lassana, Suronkote area of Poonch.

On Thursday, Police arrested two drug peddlers after 1400 gm and 150 gm charas were recovered from their possessions during checking in Ramban.

Police said Fayaz Ahmed of Tarigam, Kulgam was arrested with 1400 gm bhang while Feroz Ahmad Khan of Seri Ramban was arrested with 150 gm charas.

Police said three FIRs were registered at Police Station Ramban and an FIR was registered at Police Station Chanderkote under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
