AIB calls for shutdown against Kashmir civilian killings
Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhaderwah (AIB), while showing solidarity with the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), has called for a complete shutdown tomorrow on Sunday to protest civilian killings in Kulgam, Kashmir.
In a statement, AIB president Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh termed the killings as "most heinous, opening up of a bloody war against unarmed civilians and worst atrocity against the people of Kashmir".
The AIB issued the call for peaceful bandh to show solidarity with innocent people of Kashmir. Three civilians, including a teenage girl, were killed after the government forces opened fire on protesters in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Saturday.
Denouncing the civilian killings, AIB president termed Kulgam incident as one of the bloodiest days in the valley in recent months.
"It seems that for Indian government, it has become an order of the day to kill and wound innocent civilians. Perhaps this is the only way they can remain in good books of their RSS masters in Nagpur," said Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.
"On this issue, we are with JRL and our signal for GOI is loud and clear that we stand for the cause of Kashmir and tomorrow's shutdown call is to show solidarity with the innocent Kashmiris," Sheikh said.
