Amid corona fear, Chaitra Navratri celebrations called off in Bhadarwah

The Chaitra Navratra festivals which begun on Wednesday was observed without usual celebrations in this town owing to restrictions on mass gatherings in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

Thetownship, which is home to historic temples including Vasuki Nag temple,Gupt-Ganga temple, Durga Mata temple, Chandi Mata temple, Sheetla temple andKali Mata temple would remain abuzz, especially during Navratra as thousands ofdevotees would throng these temples during festivals.

   

Thisyear the devotees did not visit temples. Instead the devotees preferred toperform worship and celebrations indoors.

Yoginder Razdan, PresidentShri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SSDS) Bhadarwah appealed to devotees to not visitthe temples and instead offer prayers at their respective places.

“We have closed down alltemples in Bhadarwah. It is necessary to take such measures to contain thespread of the virus,” said Rzadan.
