A rally for recruitment in territorial army (TA) for the youth of Chenab Valley, slated to be held at Sports Stadium Doda on Tuesday, February 12, has been postponed due to heavy snowfall in entire region, the army said on Sunday.
Adjutant 149 InfBn TA (H&H) Dogra major RS Bhatia said that the rally would now be held on February 20. In a letter addressed to the director AIR, the adjutant stated that the rally, which had to be held on Tuesday, has been postponed due to heavy snowfall resulting in road blockade.
He said that the district administration would be informed about fresh dates of the rally for making necessary arrangements. “The recruitment rally was scheduled to be held in Doda on February 12, but due to heavy snow storm on February 7, resulting in massive damage to all the highways and link roads of Chenab region, the army officials announced postponement of the rally for 8 days,” he said.
